That Resort Girl Launches “50 at 50,” a New Hotel Review Series From Traveluxe Founder Meg Kinnerk

To celebrate turning 50, Kinnerk will visit 50 hotels and resorts, sharing candid reviews and helping travelers understand who each property is really right for

CHICAGO, September 18, 2026 — After turning 50 this month, Traveluxe Founder and CEO Meg Kinnerk, creator of the travel brand That Resort Girl, is marking the milestone in a fitting way: by launching 50 at 50, a new series featuring 50 hotel and resort stays.

Over the course of the series, Kinnerk will visit properties ranging from luxury resorts and iconic hotels to family-friendly destinations and unexpected finds, sharing the kind of candid perspective that has helped That Resort Girl build an audience of more than 100,000 followers on Instagram.

“I turned 50 and decided I wanted to do something fun with it,” said Kinnerk. “I spend so much of my life looking at hotels and resorts, talking about hotels and resorts, and helping people figure out where they should stay. So, 50 hotels at 50 felt pretty perfect.”

But 50 at 50 isn't a list of the 50 best hotels, and Kinnerk isn't expecting every property to be a five-star standout.

Instead, each stay will answer the question at the center of That Resort Girl: Who is this hotel actually right for?

“A hotel doesn't have to be the fanciest or most expensive to be a great recommendation,” Kinnerk said. “Sometimes you need the Four Seasons. Sometimes you need the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee. What matters is knowing what you're getting and whether it makes sense for your trip.”

That approach has become central to That Resort Girl, where Kinnerk shares resort reviews, hotel recommendations and travel advice based on firsthand experience and her perspective as the founder of a luxury travel agency.

The series will take followers inside each property while looking beyond the photos that typically dominate social media. Kinnerk plans to evaluate the details travelers actually want to know, from rooms, pools and restaurants to location, service, overall experience and value, along with the type of traveler she believes will enjoy the property most.

The 50 stays will include a mix of personal travel, industry events and hotel partnerships. When a stay is hosted or provided at a special industry rate, that relationship will be disclosed.

For Kinnerk, the project also brings together two sides of the business she has built: Traveluxe, the luxury travel agency she founded in 2010, and That Resort Girl, the consumer travel brand that has grown into a major source of travel inspiration and client demand for the agency.

“After doing this for as long as I have, I've learned that the best hotel isn't the same for everyone,” Kinnerk said. “That's what I want 50 at 50 to be about. I'll stay there, show you what it's really like and tell you who I think should book it.”

50 at 50 begins this fall, with new hotel and resort stays featured across That Resort Girl's social media channels.
